PetSmart Everyday Adoption Centers Volunteer Opportunities
Our PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center is a small, intimate space where volunteers make a huge difference in the lives of shelter cats and dogs. Each volunteer role is designed to support the daily care, enrichment, and adoption readiness of our animals while providing a hands-on, rewarding experience. Volunteer activities are flexible and based on the needs of the center, giving you the chance to make a meaningful impact every time you visit.
PetSmart Shelter Care Volunteer
Start the day by helping cats and dogs have a clean, comfortable, and stress-free environment. Early Morning Animal Care Volunteers assist with feeding, cleaning, and organizing the center, ensuring that all animals begin their day happy and healthy. This role is perfect for volunteers who enjoy hands-on care and supporting staff with essential morning tasks.
Adoption Center Support Volunteer
Keep the adoption center running smoothly and make every pet’s day more engaging. Center Support Volunteers rotate animals into playrooms, provide enrichment, spot clean kennels, walk dogs, and assist with meet-and-greets for potential adopters. This flexible, hands-on role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy interacting with animals and helping visitors connect with their future furry family members.
Animal Spotlight Volunteer
Help showcase our adoptable pets so they find their forever homes faster. Pet Profile Volunteers take photos, record behavioral information, and help maintain accurate profiles for cats and dogs. This role is perfect for volunteers who enjoy photography, observation, and documenting the unique personalities of each animal to increase their chances of adoption.
Doggy Day Out Volunteer
Give shelter dogs a day to shine outside the center! Doggy Day Out Volunteers can pick up dogs from the adoption center Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, and take them out for a day on the town or a relaxing afternoon at home. This flexible, one-on-one experience helps dogs get socialization, enrichment, and a much-needed break from the shelter environment, while creating memorable connections with volunteers.
