2026 Impact Volunteer Opportunities
In 2026, our volunteer program is focusing on opportunities that make the biggest difference for the animals in our care. Each shelter has selected roles that will have a measurable impact on pet well-being, socialization, and adoption success. These positions aren’t just about filling shifts — they’re about giving volunteers the chance to see the real results of their work while helping animals thrive, gain confidence, and find their forever homes.
North Animal Campus: High-Impact Roles for 2026
The North Animal Campus has chosen these three volunteer opportunities that will maximize your impact this year:
Urgent Pet Advocate – Shine a spotlight on the pets who need it most. By providing fresh photos, behavior updates, and extra socialization, you help at-risk animals get noticed, increasing their chances for adoption or rescue.
Pet Photographer – Capture the heart and personality of shelter pets. Your photos help tell their stories online, attracting adopters, fosters, and rescue partners, and giving every animal a better chance to find a home.
Doggy Day Out – Take dogs out for a day of fun, enrichment, and community experiences. By walking trails, visiting dog-friendly spots, or attending adoption events, you help dogs build confidence, improve socialization, and give our team valuable insights about each dog’s personality and preferences.
Silcox Animal Shelter: High-Impact Roles for 2026
The Chuck and Brenda Silcox Animal Shelter has chosen these three volunteer opportunities that will maximize your impact this year:
Urgent Pet Advocate – Shine a spotlight on the pets who need it most. By providing fresh photos, behavior updates, and extra socialization, you help at-risk animals get noticed, increasing their chances for adoption or rescue.
Cat Caretaker – Help our shelter cats feel safe, loved, and cared for. You’ll assist with feeding, cleaning, socializing, and enrichment in the cat room, making their stay more comfortable and preparing them for adoption.
Doggy Day Out – Take dogs out for a day of fun, enrichment, and community experiences. By walking trails, visiting dog-friendly spots, or attending adoption events, you help dogs build confidence, improve socialization, and give our team valuable insights about each dog’s personality and preferences.
Each of these opportunities was selected for the direct, meaningful difference volunteers can make — and the lasting impact you’ll see in the lives of the animals you help.
