Medical: Levels of Emergency

Edited

Starting September 1st

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911. For all other urgent foster-related situations, please review the shared documents carefully. These resources outline important protocols and steps to take during an emergency. Please be mindful that our on-call team also works 40+ hours during the week, so after-hours calls should be limited to true emergencies only. A team member will follow up with you as soon as possible with further instructions.

FWACC is not a 24/7 veterinary facility and cannot provide around-the-clock medical care. We will do our best to keep the pet comfortable until it can be evaluated by a veterinarian or medical staff. However, if a pet is experiencing severe, unrelievable suffering, FWACC may make the decision to humanely euthanize in the best interest of the animal's welfare.

You may choose to seek medical care for your foster pet at an urgent care or emergency veterinary facility; however, please note that FWACC is unable to reimburse any associated costs.
