Our events give shelter pets the chance to shine outside the kennel and connect with potential adopters in the community. From adoption events to outreach opportunities, these gatherings help our animals gain visibility, build confidence, and sometimes even find their forever homes.

If you’re interested in participating, you can sign up to bring your foster pet, handle a shelter dog, or help our team set up and run the event. Each event listing below will include quick details along with links to register.

Bring Your Foster to an Event
If you’d like to bring your foster pet to an upcoming event, please complete the Foster Event Sign Up so staff can review your foster’s readiness and help ensure a great experience for both the pet and the public.

Bring a Shelter Pet to the Event
Volunteers can help showcase shelter pets by bringing a dog to the event and helping them meet potential adopters. If you’re interested in handling a shelter pet for an event, this is the opportunity for you!

Help With Event Setup & Support
Events run best with extra hands! Volunteers are needed to help with setup, greeting guests, assisting with pets, and packing up after the event. Sign up below if you’d like to support the team.

This is our Spring PetSmart National Adoption Weekend, one of our largest adoption events of the year. We need fosters to bring adoptable pets, volunteers to help showcase shelter animals, and event assistants to support staff throughout the day at both locations.

Adoption Joy Events are where second chances happen—and we need you to make them possible.

These events bring together dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities who are ready to find loving homes. Hosted at PetSmart locations, they give our shelter pets the visibility they need outside of the kennel—but we can’t do it without our fosters and volunteers.
