Hello FWACC Volunteers,

Welcome to our Weekly Volunteer Update! This email goes out every Tuesday morning and serves as your central place to stay informed on what’s happening at the shelter, where help is most needed, and what opportunities are coming up.

Our goal is to keep everyone informed, connected, and supported—while making it easy for you to step in and help when you’re able.

This week, we’re asking for extra volunteer support in the areas where help is needed most. Your time—whether short or extended—directly impacts the animals in our care right now.

Great photos save lives by helping pets stand out online and connect with potential adopters faster.
A weekly-updated photo request sheet is available in the Volunteer Room, highlighting pets who are in urgent need of new photographs.

Henry’s Animal Campus – Doggy Day Out
The temperatures are perfect this week (with just a little rain on Saturday), making it an ideal time for Doggy Day Out field trips with our shelter pups.
These outings give dogs a much-needed break from the shelter, boost their confidence, and help them shine for future adopters.

Upcoming Volunteer Events

We have several upcoming events where volunteer support is needed. These events rely on volunteers to help with everything from handling shelter pets to assisting with event operations.

Doggy Day Out Highlight

Our Doggy Day Out program continues to be an incredible outlet for our dogs - giving them a break from the shelter, valuable enrichment, and great exposure to potential adopters.

If you're interested in participating in Doggy Day Out, keep an eye on future emails and our volunteer Facebook group for available opportunities.

While we have hundreds of dogs eligible for this program, this week we want to highlight two special kids that have been with us for quite sometime and would benefit greatly from a day out of the kennels.

You can find more information on our Doggy Day Out Program and a list of dog friendly establishments in and around Fort Worth by visiting our Volunteer Resource Center!
