Hello FWACC Fosters,

Welcome to our very first Foster Weekly Update!
A new article will now go up every Wednesday (this week is an exception!) and will serve as your go-to place for foster-specific updates, urgent needs, and opportunities where foster homes can make an immediate lifesaving impact.

Our foster community plays a critical role in reducing length of stay, supporting behavior and medical recovery, and helping animals transition successfully into homes. Thank you for being part of that work.

Longtime Residents in Need of a Foster Break

Each week, we’ll spotlight longtime residents from both shelters who would greatly benefit from time in a foster home — even short-term placement can be a game changer.

Transport Support: Foster Homes Needed

Transport saves lives — but transport cannot happen without foster placement.

We currently have dogs scheduled for upcoming transports that must be placed into foster homes prior to departure. These placements are typically short-term and play a critical role in helping animals reach rescue partners out of state.

If you’re able to help with:
• Pre-transport foster placement
• Short-term foster (often 1–2 weeks)
• Supporting dogs preparing for long-distance travel

Upcoming Adoption Events & Foster Participation

We have several upcoming adoption events where foster participation can make a huge impact.

Foster homes may be asked to:
• Bring foster pets to events
• Assist with handling or advocacy
• Share updates and success stories

Details and sign-ups for upcoming events will be shared through email and foster communication channels.
